Digital photographs taken with a Hoya R72 Infrared Filter
This lens filter blocks almost all visible light, only letting near-infrared light into the camera's sensor. Light in the near-infrared spectrum refers to wavelengths just beyond the light spectrum that is visible to the human eye. Different from thermal infrared which records energy being emitted from surfaces, this type of photography captures energy being reflected off of surfaces that we otherwise cannot see.
